Applying EA and ED at the same time

Can u apply EA and ED at the same time?

I'm not trying to violate any of the policies or anything, I just want to have my options opened by applying EA and boost my chance by applying ED (1 school)

not sure which school I'd ED
the schools that I want to apply EA: U of Chicago, Boston College, Georgetown

Can someone please answer my question... ?? urgent!!

Thanks in advance

As long as its not single choice EA (schools such as Stanford) you can apply to both ED(binding) and EA(non-Binding)

Read the rules for each school. Policies vary. Be sure you understand what you are reading and if in doubt you can always call each admissions office.

i think for georgetown, it says that you can only apply to other EA schools but not ED school for you are not free of choosing to come to Gerogetown when accepted to all of the schools...

georgetown is def one of my first choice schools; however, i really do wanna apply to one ED school... is there anyway i can bend the rule a lil bit?

Sure you can bend the rule and if you are caught......ALL offers of acceptance will be recinded. Secondarily your HS counseling department will be in a bad situation as they will have enabled you. You must not have read any of the previous threads about ED as a binding contract.

if i get accepted from the ED school, im def going there
im saying, some of the schools that offer EA (not single EA) does not let you apply ED at the same time... for some reason, i've seen a lot of ppl apply georgetown EA and other schools ED at the same time...

i'm juz wondering...
how do they find out if u applied to other schools as well...

Your guidance counselor has a professional obligation to make sure this isn't happening......who do you think sends the report and transcript? There is a lot more involved here than the portion of the application that you fill out. Are you aware of that?

yes im thoroughly aware of it
ive seen so many cases where ppl do it and i thought those policies were negligible... i guess i'll abide by the rules... its gonna be a tough decision for me though

Early decision isn't REALLY binding, now is it? Started in College Admissions by immajap88 on 09-21-2005

"i guess i'll abide by the rules... its gonna be a tough decision for me though"

classic.

You can only EA/ED with schools that allow multiple schools, it's really simple. Don't forget about rolling too.
