i am applying ea/ed for some schools. when should i ask my teachers for recs? there is a teacher that i have had for the past two years but not this year, and i should have this teacher again senior year. i want to ask this teacher for a recommendation. should i wait until beginning of next year? the teacher likes me but i have not really kept in touch with the teacher this year.

Ask as soon as you can as some teachers have to limit the number of LORs they will write. If possible, get a commitment now, you can talk to your teacher in detail in the fall. It’s OK that you didn’t keep in touch this year, the fact that they will have had you as a student for 3 of your 4 years is great.

e-mail them now to let them know and try to get them early. Everyone asks near the deadlines so you want to avoid that rush.

@entomom- the class i plan to take with this teacher has a limit on enrollment so hopefully i will be able to take it next year. i have already taken 3 classes with this teacher.

^^^That’s great, hopefully that will result in a very strong LOR.
