can I apply Early Action to more than 1 college? e.g can i apply to MIT and U of Chicago both EA? or is it not allowed? thanks

Early Action is different from Early Decision and Single Choice Early Action. With just "Early Action", you are free to apply as many places as you want. It is a non-binding contract.

Early Decision and Single-Choice Early Action are different. Early Decision is a binding contract with the school you are applying to [and it's very difficult to get out of it]. This means that you may apply Early Action [but not Early Decision] to other schools. With Single-Choice Early Action, it is non-binding [you are not required to attend] but you may not apply Early Action/Early Decision to other schools.

Oh, and for the record, if schools reject you SCEA or ED or EA, you're free to apply to other schools RD.

ok, thanks

Excellent advice.
