I know normally one isn't allowed to apply Early Action to more than one school. But I was wondering... I want to make the Early Action cutoff for NYU Poly. In November I applied Early Action to Stanford, and was rejected in December.

Because I got rejected from my earlier Early Action college, will I be allowed to apply to NYU Poly now with their Early Action program?

Early action itself isn’t binding. You apply early to schools, and get decisions early.

Some schools are restrictive early action, aka single choice early action, like Stanford. Here you can only chose one early ______ school to apply to. Since you were not accepted, you have no obligation to not apply to any EA schools.

Early decision is the binding one. You can only apply to one ED school and if you want EA schools, but if you get accepted ED, you must attend.

NYU Poly still has early action? Most early action schools, like Stanford, had deadlines around October and released decisions in December.

Ahhh, now I understand. I had thought all schools’ Early Action programs were like Stanford’s restrictive one.

NYU Poly’s Early Action II deadline is tomorrow, 2/15. I have the application completed, but I was just unsure of which application category to place mine under. Thanks so much for your quick response! :)
