If I apply SCEA to Yale, can I also apply to some safeties?

For example, I want to apply to Rutgers rolling admissions and possibly some other colleges which gave me "personal/fee-waived" applications (I'll check off RD but submit it really early, like September, like Rolling Admissions).

Would this work or should I just wait till December?

I believe rolling admissions is OK as long as it's not an early option. For example, people who apply to oxford/cambridge usually do so earlier in the year, but it's compatible with SCEA because it's not an 'early' application at the other university.

It seems your Rutgers option is fine. At an info session, someone asked a Yale rep about U-Michigan's Early Response (University of Michigan - Office of Undergraduate Admissions) which gives a Dec 24th reply. The Yale rep said that it was OK. Given that it approximates EA more than Rutgers option, I can't see how it's a conflict. Maybe drop an admissions person a quick email, just in case?
