Applying Early...

i know that everyone preaches apply early and i plan on doing this but i was planning on retaking my sat's and taking the act in september. i was wondering how this will effect my application. Will they wait for the scores, or if my current scores are fine will they admit me? also, could they look at my later scores and reevaluate scholarship potential? any input would be appreciated. ty

I think it's fine to take tests up until November[?] and still apply early

each school has different policies on the last SAT examination it'll consider for its early round and regular round; check each school's website and it shouldn't be hard to find. is there any college in particular you're concerned about?

Exactly what the others have said: You need to check your college specifically, but almost all schools take scores up to October for ED, and some take November ones as well.

im sorry, i wasnt clear in my first rushed post. i am not submitting my app ED or EA i'm just trying to apply early, before others apply. i was planning on applying to the universities of florida(in-state), pittsburgh, and wisconsin. and some others but these are the ones im hoping for some scholarship money..

Oh, I see...and that makes more sense, because while I don't know about Pitt and Wisconsin (though Wisconsin might be rolling, in which case it definitely matters...), I know that for UF, while applying earlier may not help chances, it makes a big deal for getting housing.

I would say that you'll definitely be ok waiting for your September ACT...then perhaps after you find out that score, you could determine whether an October SAT is worht the wait, or if the ACT brings your test scores up where you'd like them?
Also, since we don't know your current scores, we have no way of telling how much of a reach these schools are for you, and if you even eed to bring up your scores at all.

wisconsin is rolling, so apply early.

i think they open up sep 15th

You can send in your application and put it on hold until they receive your scores.

Pitt is rolling, as well.

my sat scores are 740 math 690 cr 640 w. so, if i were to apply they would not consider my application until all of the scores were in?
