I know in regular college admissions applying early (not ED, but early like October) is considered an advantage. Is it the same case with transfers? The reason is, one of my recommendations is not going to be ready until probably beginning of February, while my entire app I think I can send in the second week of January. Will not applying as early as possible hurt? If it matters, I will go to schools like Cornell, Penn, Brown, and NYU Stern. Thanks.

Anyone???

Applying early only makes a difference if the school has rolling admission, it won’t matter for the schools you’ve listed.

Pardon my ignorance, but does that mean that all schools basically do nothing with all the applications they receive until after the due date? I probably should know this having applied to college once, but I was never concerned with these semantics before.

I’m under the impression that colleges deal with freshmen app insanity before looking at transfer apps.

I would also like to know. Does anyone know exactly how the apps are handled?
