I just got my SATs back and the total was 2090 but mainly because the writing section brought me down.
CR: 700
Math: 740
Writing: 650 (64 MC, 9 essay (! ugh....))
If I retake it, which I will, I know I can get higher score.

I was thinking of applying EA, but don't think that my SATs will make the cut. I want to retake it before the EA deadline, but have 4 SAT IIs to take in Oct/Nov making it quite impossible. Anyways, do you guys still think I should try the EA for Princeton? I posted this on the Yale forum as well, as P and Y are my "very big reach" and dream schools.
(I'd say my resume is reasonably well-rounded. Music is a strong factor/almost hook- but want to go into the sciences)

Don't waste the ED on HYP with your test scores. I think you'd have a great shot at Vandy ED though.

Only apply early to a place where you're absolutely sure you could spend the next four years. If you love Princeton and it's your favorite school and you're sure you want to go there, apply ED and hope for the best. If you're not so sure about Princeton, then I would apply EA to Yale, which is not binding...

Or even better, consider your list of colleges, and think of a less selective school that offers a non-binding early admission program. If you get in EA to one of those schools, you won't have to stress nearly as much during the RD round. Boston College is one example of an EA school that's prestigious, without being insanely competitive.

Retake the SATs and concentrate on your essays and recommendations, because those are big factors (especially for people who need to make up for test scores). Also, show a lot of interest in the schools to which you apply, so that they know you're serious.

I got a 600 (not a typo) on the SAT II Literature test, but still got into Princeton ED... and I don't have URM/legacy/athlete status... anything's possible if you know how to play your cards right (as cliche as it sounds)

Good luck... you'll do fine.

i got a 2100 and got into princeton RD... so... I didn't need my test scores, though. I had some pretty good ECs and Princeton was impressed

thx
If you don't mind sharing, amnesia and jmarsh what were your credentials like?
