Applying ED to CC and please chance me

<p>Hi guys, I need help with knowing how much chance I have to get into Columbia in the ED round. Thanks for you guys' time and attention, and here are my stats:</p>

<p>Stats:
GPA (weighted) 4.18 out of 5 scale. Valedictorian.
I've taken a combined 9 APs: 5s on Comp Gov, US Gov, USH, Micro&Macro Econ, Lan, Psych, Calc AB, a 4 on Euro History
SAT 1 710-800-760
Two subject tests: US History: 780 Math 2: 800</p>

<p>Extracurricular/Awards:
- 4 year of Lead Guitarist of my personal rock band, have 2 albums
- 4 years of School Math Team, Captain
- 3 years of JSA (Debate), President
- 3 years of mentoring project, working with grade school kids
- 4 years of volunteering at a exhibition hall, around 200+hours
- 4 years of Chinese Club, VP
- Columbia High School Visiting Students Program this summer, took Principles of Economics, got an A-
- 3 years of NHS (6 out of 500+kids), treasurer
- Paid Work: summer job at an investment bank, did a 21-page report on couple large firms' financial status and presented to the senior colleagues
- State Math Bowl 2nd place for two years
- State Economics Challenge 2nd place in 11th grade
- National AP Scholar
- National Merit Scholar SemiFinalist (225 on PSAT)
- School Social Studies Department Award
- Valedictorian</p>

<p>Essays:
-PS and supps are pretty good, did lots of edits and should be strong and special </p>

<p>Recs:
-Teacher recs and counselor rec are fantastic overall. They all know me really well. </p>

<p>Supplementary Material:
-None, but considering sending some of my band songs or research papers.</p>

<p>Other:
-State: HI (lol, I know)
-School Type: ****ty Private, religious, nobody applies ED to CC this year except me
-Ethnicity: Asian
-Gender:M
-Income: need no money from the school anyway
-Hook: None
-Major: Poli Sci</p>

<p>I would be absolutely astounded if you weren’t accepted. Your stats are awesome, activities are very unique, and if your essays are even close to that, you’re good to go.</p>

<p>I just feel like Columbia’s admission is very random. I have already submitted my app, and much would be appreciated if you can take a look at my essays:)</p>

<p>Overall a very solid application! Your ECs are great, especially the part about being in a band who has released albums. Debate is also great.</p>

<p>That you’re applying from a state like Hawaii will net you huge points for sure. You’re pretty much good to go.</p>

<p>Contrary to what everyone is saying, I do not think <em>anyone</em> is a shoe-in for Columbia (or any top school for that matter). I would not be surprised if you were admitted, but likewise, I would not be surprised if you were denied. I was admitted ED last year with worse stats than yours, but I also noticed people who were denied with better stats than yours. Best of luck!</p>
