i would love to meet everyone on this board! what a kick - a$$ group...((and apparently we dont have comraderie....pssshhh wat haterz))

LAgal....we'll be meeting soon if you get in (hope so!). Local H club has lots of events, including a big annual party at someone's home here in Metairie where all the incoming LA students are introduced to the community. It's really fun.

hey Gal!!! I'm back :) I'm currently putting the finishing touches on the UC app that I will withdraw as soon as I get into Harvard, so I should get back to you within the next half hour....cant wait!!!

PSedrish,
Did you attend Harvard? If so, what school? Are you an alumni interviewer?

WOW, DR. SEDRISH! You have absolutely no clue how excited I'd be!!! Harvard and meeting someone from Tulane med!!! Do they have the party in April after they know about everyone or late December after EA applicants know?

slic, i await you...i'm finishing up another couple of apps, too...for some reason, i'm in the mood to write right now :)

sorry LAgal....today (although it began well enough) has ended up being a really horrible day....lots of family issues that i'm going through...ughh, i hate getting older- so much responsibility :(

i'm gonna be in a pretty sh**ty mood these next few days, so don't mind me

Why withdraw your other apps? I mean, sure you're not going to go to UC over Harvard... but wouldn't it be cool to have another acceptance letter?

although it WOULD be nice getting another acceptance letter, I'm a firm believer in not taking someone else's spot if I'm not intending to go there

But you're really not taking anyone's spot. Colleges accept more people than they have room for, because they know they're not going to have 100% yield. And if they did accept too few people, then they'll go to the waitlist and accept more.

slicmlic, i agree completely...it's not fair to people for whom uc is a dream school for you to just hold their spot...
justforgetme...i agree with that too, as i have posted earlier
i think the entire issue is very arbitrary and i suggest that everyone do what he/she feels appropriate...in the end, it must all work out, or the system wouldn't have been so successful for so many years

slic, i'm sorry to hear that you're down :(...I hope that I am not speaking for only myself when I say that all CCer's are here to support you! :)
