Applying Engineering to Berkeley

So I'm not sure whether I should apply as an engineering major into Cal.

I don't really have a solid idea of what it is I want to major in, but engineering is appealing. I could apply undeclared L&S, and I would have a higher chance of being accepted that way, but it's incredibly difficult to transfer into the college of engineering. Transferring from COE to L&S is easy, however, which I could do if I decided engineering wasn't my thing.

I'm not worried about my test scores for engineering (2310 SAT), but my GPA is on the weak side by Cal COE standards (4.32 W, 3.68 UW, 4.13 UC GPA; though I am ranked fourth in my class out of 419).

Basically, would it be advisable to apply to Berkeley COE with the stuff I've described?

Which engineering major(s) are you interested in? Selectivity within the College of Engineering varies by major, but note that some engineering majors have similar L&S majors:

EECS – L&S CS (if you are interested in the CS side rather than the EE side)
IEOR – L&S ORMS
Engineering physics – L&S physics
Engineering math – L&S math or applied math

Bioengineering is the one I’ve considered most.
