Applying for Berkeley when I live in Canada?

Will this lower my chances of getting accpeted?
What are the acceptance rates for international students?

also... what do I need to accomplish/work towards to have a good chance of getting accepted?

This is my dream!
Please answer :)

thanks !

UC Berkeley (a California public university) is selective for in-state (California) students and very selective for out of state and international students. It is also much more expensive for out-of-state and international students than for in-state students. My understanding is that it has limited scholarship money, and that it doesn’t provide merit scholarships. California is having a difficult time with its budget, and the amounts available for higher education have been cut significantly.

The answer to your question is that UC Berkeley is a reach school for out-of-state and international students. My sense is that grades and SAT scores figure more heavily for UC Berkeley in the admission decision than at private selective schools.

So … take the more/most rigorous courses offered at your high school for the cornerstone subjects (english, math, science, history/social studies, and language); get mostly A’s; and score in the high 90s percentile in your SATs. It’s no different really from what you need to do to be a serious contender for the most selective schools.
