<p>I'm not going to have Calc 2 completed by next spring, only Calc 1. Should i even attempt to get into ucla's biz econ? i have 4.0 with 59 units completed by this fall (75 or so done by spring) and other business related EC's, but just no calc 2. other prereqs are all done. TAP is done too</p>
<p>think ucla and cal both auto deny for bus programs if the pre reqs arent completed… something I read indicated that at least, of the 1000 that apply only like 250 have prereqs done, so the other 750 get denied. then something like 50% of those with prereqs completed get taken. amounting to like 120 transfers accepted to the program.</p>
<p>You are pretty much screwed i would say try and take it winter session i would assume calc 1 then take calc 2 in the spring</p>
<p>Take both at the same time? might be my situation if i my AP calc bc score doesn’t count as an equivalent for the calculus 1 course at my school</p>
<p>As a mathematics major, I have no idea how you could possibly take both Calc 1 and Calc 2 at the same time and understand what’s going on…</p>
<p>i really don’t want to burst your bubble, but realistically, you really do need ALL the pre-reqs for UCLA and i highly doubt you will find a ccc that will offer calc 1 or even 2 over the winter with all the budget cuts.</p>
<p>@mbe16: Well, Calc 1 and 2 are relatively popular because they are required for many majors. I attend SMC and we have Calc 1 and 2 classes over the Winter.</p>
<p>@galbitang: calc over the winter sounds intense. my school used to offer calc 2 over the summer, but since the pass rate was so low, they stopped offering it in the summer. but whoever can ace it over the winter is my hero. i’d rather stay another year and get the better grade.</p>
<p>Yeah, math is my worst nightmare. But arguably taking it over the shorter semester is better because you’re focusing on only one or two classes. I wouldn’t know.</p>

<p>i believe SMC starts their winter in january and my spring at my college starts january (3rd week) also… therefore unless timing matches up, theres no realistic way of getting things done through taking winter at a different cc.</p>

<p>i think it really depends on the major and school. for example, i’m applying to UCSD, and it just says that the more i have done, the more competitive i am. i’m also applying to UCSB, but at the ASSIST website, it tells me that i’m required to have all of it done just to be considered. for ucla, i think it’s because biz-econ is such an competitive major, you should have it all.</p>
<p>It’s not that UC’s deny it’s the fact that UCLA automatically denies due to the fact that, Business Econ is such an impacted major it would be easier to just label applications as “eligible and ineligible” due to pre-reqs.</p>
