Applying for Engineering?

<p>Hi, I’m actually asking this for a friend who is applying to Brown. </p>

<p>Right now, he plans to put engineering as his intended major. He isn’t really too sure if he wants to go into engineering, but he figures its his best bet as of now. Then, he asked me about the extra form Brown has for the scienes. First, does this mean that Engineering is a different school? When he’s admitted, would he be any different than anyone else?</p>

<p>Also, considering he isn’t too sure, what’s the point of putting Engineering as his intended major and filling out that extra form? Does it help…maybe Brown is looking for students in that area…</p>

<p>I put mechanical engineering as my desired field and filled out the extra form, so it can't hurt. Given the number of times the average student changes majors in college, I don't think it matters too much.</p>
