Applying for Fall 2011, Rutgers wants me to send in my Fall 2010 grades

I applied Early Decision back in October for Fall 2011. I recieved an e-mail today that Rutgers wants me to send in my latest transcript with my Fall 2010 grades on it. Does this mean I am being heavily considered for acceptance, and that they are making sure my grades are up to par, or do they do this for everyone? Just wondering, because my Fall 2010 grades weren't great ( 2 W's, 1 A, 1 B+, 1 B, 1 C )

What do you guys think?

P.S My official transcript is not yet available, but can I just print out my grades from the website and send that in?

I got the same email but i believe it is just a reminder to all applicants to send in their grades. I just printed out my grades from my college site and sent them in via fax

You are being heavily considered for acceptance, and they are making sure your grades are up to par.

Everyone is required to send their final trascript though.

@Jason, I think they do this for everyone. I’m too applying for Fall 2011 and I just faxed my Fall 2010 grades to RU. I think they want every grades up to the application due date which is Feb 1.

@iZodlliquify But my question is how do we know if they already got our grade. Should I call them to check? I have seen anything in my status

Its not supposed to show up on the status screen until 3 weeks later, is what I heard.

Did you guys send in an unofficial transcript or just print out the grades from your school website and send those in?

Admissions want to see the grades you received from Fall 2010. When you get admitted, they’ll ask again for a transcript in June to see how you performed in the next semester and overall.

They would only have your Fall 2010 grades if you sent in an official transcript. They only have what you gave them when you applied in October (grades before fall 2010). I don’t know how it works now at Rutgers, but when I was applying back in Fall 2007, I was required to send in an official transcript with a seal and signature.

@Mushaboomblue, thanks for the info, but do you think i should send all my transcript again? or do you think its better i wait until my grade shows up in my status? @JasonLi, I printed out my fall grade and then fax it to them.

I just faxed in my grade report for the fall 2010 semester…

@nicwayfarer What was your GPA like? And if you don’t mind me asking, where are you transferring from?

@ nicwayfarer: Did your transcript have your grades for Fall 2010? I would wait to see if your status change on your Rutgers page indicating that they received your grades. If they ask for it and the status doesn’t change, then I would send it again just in case.

No you don’t have to. I got in early action to SAS w/o putting down my classes or grades for senior year. They want to see if your grades are up to par obviously. If your 2010 grades weren’t good, of course they want to see if you improved. They are trying to put things in your favor.

@Jason Li. I am transfering from Brookdale Community College. I will have my associates after this spring semester. I’m going for Accounting and my GPA is 3.80 with 60+credits. I actually applied back in November and I hope I will be hearing soon :). How about you?
@Mushaboomblue: No, when I sent my transcript it didn’t have the fall grade. I sent them about 2 weeks ago, hopefullly my status change within next week or so. I have a quick question for you, when you applied back in 07, when did you hear back? Did you apply as a transfer?

I think you might have to send it in again with the Fall 2010 grades included.

I didn’t apply as a transfer but as a high school applicant. I heard back in early January. The status page goes from ‘In Process’ to ‘Admitted’. Sorry, I don’t know when transfer hear back, but I reckon it has to be sometime soon like the other high school applicants.

@nic You have a better chance then I do then. I’m transferring from
Hudson County Community College with a GPA of around 3.0, but I haven’t gotten my Associates yet ( have around 45 credits so far ) Oh and I’m a biology major :)

@Jason don’t lose hope, i think you can still get into rutgers. Just make sure that you’re taking the same class that can be transfer to rutgers. Good luck to you and keep each other posted :)

I received the email and i printed out my grades from my colleges website and sent them in on wed. i just looked on my Status screen and it shows that they received them. Heres to hoping we all get in :)

@braveman13, what did it say on your status? Cause I fax my grade 2 weeks ago but my status hasnt changed. I’m going to send my transcript again i guess this monday.

Does anyone have the fax number to send transcripts to? I’m trying to search online but can’t find it, thanks that would a lot

That’s weird I never sent in my fall senior year grades and was accepted in December and applied in november. I even heard rutgers doesn’t use or need first marking period grades for admissions decisions.

I sent my grades in on wed, its was jan 12th i think, and i now shows that they have my college grades. The number i sent it into was 732-445-8088.

Thank you braveman!!
