Applying for fall of 2010 Cornell

yay i got accepted to UCSD. at least i have a school to go now if Cornell rejects me!!!

nice, did UCSD give any financial aid, if you even applied for any?

Well, just sent my application about an hour ago via snail mail. Best of luck to everyone… and I know it’s early but, based on past years, when should we be expecting our results? :)

@Castiel: thanks, i’m intl student so couldn’t apply for aid
@Stryke: Last year, CALS started releasing the decision really early, April 13th!

ahh I see, i don’t think the UC’s give aid to students out of state either, even if they are US citizens or residents. Lame :frowning: But yeah good job man UCSD is a good school, but hopefully you will get into Cornell. :D

cograts on UCSD ntmikey! I think it’s kind of ridic to pay 38K as an OOS for a public school. Crazy!

ntmikey, when did you hear from UCSD? I’m tag-ed but I haven’t heard anything yet?

you should just go to their admissions website and log in to your account (create one if u haven’t, very simple).

Congrats Ntmikey! although i would prefer the Bay area over SD…did you get any of their merit scholarships? (some are open to internationals)

Someone tell me that it’s ok that I submitted my CA application like… two minutes ago.

It should be fine. :)

i haven’t even submitted mine yet :)

Oh my goodness…I submitted my application. Such a great/terrifying moment.

@collegebatman - Why the panic? Applications aren’t due until 11:59 p.m. Monday. S’all good.

I am submitting mine tomorrow!!

FINAL NEXT WEEK for UCs and CSUs! ARGGGH!!

Still haven’t subitted mine. So thrilled. Will submit today.

Oh, just have applied. There are my data:
GPA: 3.8 unweighted, from the most prestigious university in Uzbekistan
Applying: ILR, transfer admission
Tests: TOEFL 107. SAT - didn’t send.
Recoms:pretty good
Essays: Supplement - ILR specific. At ComApp - have drawn a small piece of my life.
Interview - was not yet
ECs: a lot, mostly community work.
Midterm report: one B out of 4. Others A.
Classes taken: almost identical to ILR’s

Who knows when the decisions will be released?

@Castiel and @ironicallyunsure:
Thank you for your support, I was thinking about giving up my chance to apply this semester, but after hearing your words, I’ve decided to take advantage of this opportunity to finish up and submit my application.

By the way is it alright if I submit my Instructor Evaluation(letter of recommendation), and College Official Report(Dean’s letter) late? (After March 15th).
As for Mid-Year report it will definitely be late because I am currently on Spring Break and I won’t be able to get in touch with any of my professors for the signature until tomorrow.

i wish i didn’t have a midterm tomorrow =( then i could edit my essays without much worry

I’m pretty pleased, I obtained 2 A+ and 2 As for four subjects at UMich for my mid-terms. Hope that’ll sway the adcom. BAH

I was wondering how the adcom decides whether the subjects you’ve taken are tough ones. Do they judge based on that too? And, how would I know which subjects are harder?
