Applying for fall of 2010 Cornell

Solidblu: i feel offended by ur comment too. With that attutude, cornell shoudnt bother to look at ur app either. Thousands of applicants and u said u didnt care?

Moreover, Cornell > Berkeley by a long shot.

I scammed on the Cornell thread last fall for like 2 hours today. At this time of last year, we only had about 35 pages.

We sure are a noisy class lolz

"Moreover, Cornell > Berkeley by a long shot. "
-def true haha. Did you read the transfer brochure for Cornell? One of the first pages about transferring was a girl that transferred from Berkeley to Cornell haha. in yo face UCB! lol

Hey Duy, I read through a lot of thread about transfer to the Hotel school. If we have a GPA 3.90 and up, we will have a great shot.

wow that just makes my day. Where did you get that info???

Btw are you applying to the hotel school, too? I heard that they are the last to send out notifications :((

How competitive is the government major at CAS? Are we talking impossible to get into? It’s gotta be popular among the prelaw crowd. I’m open to doing philosophy or classics if it makes much of a difference.

CAS will be hard to transfer into regardless. government is cornell’s version of polisci, so yeah, very, very popular with the pre-law kids. classics may give you a slight edge because it’s one of the less popular majors, but don’t apply for that if you don’t really love it. did you apply for fall? it’s too late to change major/interest/essays, but for the next round, i’d also look into the ILR school

and honestly, solidblu, you couldnt even follow simple directions. what makes you think you’re worthy of a top school? i sincerely hope you get in no where.

yeah, a lot of GTs go to berkeley for their first year and then peace out.

lol dang you guys are so mean to solidblu, come on thats not the cornell spirit :stuck_out_tongue: Forgiveness and community, guys.

Sure you made a mistake and said something you probably should not have, but we will gladly take your spot if you don’t want it :D

^^IRL is definitely my runner up choice. And since from what I hear all the i-banking recruiting, opportunities etc. are open to all Cornellians, I’d be happy with either.

+1 Castiel

Ok change of topic: When do you guys think we’ll get a status update on receipt of application materials? Will they ever update that page or will they just give a decision?

last year they they changed it on April 7th.

Hey guys, I’m really sorry about that, I honestly didn’t mean to offend anyone at all. Ironicallyunsure simply presented me with the possibility that I may have been automatically rejected, and I was pretty much just trying to make myself feel better. Sure I know that Cornell is an awesome school, but I’m a cali resident, so Berkeley may be a better choice. I wanted to go to U Penn over Cornell because of their anthropology program. Applying to Cornell was sort of a last minute thing I did because I have a fee waiver…I really don’t know much about the school at all. I couldn’t find nearly as much info about their anthro program as I could about Penn’s. (and I had Penn’s application and supplement in before the deadline).

So ya, sorry if I offended anyone…I’m sure Cornell is a great school…I really should learn more about it. Damnit…in General, I have no idea how I’d pick from any of these schools - even if I get accepted to ALL of them, how in the world would I decide?? I can only visit the ones in cali…

damn it, just checked the fall 08 thread and it scared the hell outta me. people still had their documents missing at the end of April, while some already got accepted. what if i had the same situation??? OH NO, my professors would be ****ed. i would not dare to ask them to write rec letters for me anymore even though i’m sure the ones that I sent to Cornell are 2 of the best rec letters. PLEASE DONT LOSE MY DOCUMENTS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CORNELL

I’m really hoping we start getting some feedback from Cornell with regard to what they do and don’t have for our materials. This is messing with my head so badly.

@solidblu - Very tactful response; it’s appreciated. And on behalf of the people who posted aggressive responses in lieu of your comments, I apologize. You just walked into a forum of people who have basically dedicated their lives trying to transfer to Cornell. We are a very passionate group lol.

I received an email the 23th from Mrs. Meredith Graham (Engineering Transfer) stating that I was missing my course descriptions. I had till April 9th to send the missing documents. Obviously I sent them the very next day I received the email. Cornell is processing our applications guys…already…

whats the link to check you application status?

https://selfservice.admissions.cornell.edu/

However I don’t think it’s gonna be updated after the freshman decisions are out

Son applying but won’t have all his mid-term grades for the mid-term report until tomorrow. Should he fax or e-mail to Cornell?

Thanks!

The freshman decisions are over. The adcom will look at our applications this week…
