Applying for fall of 2010 Cornell

why will some of us be waiting until may/june? do applications received earlier receive decisions earlier? since i submitted march 12th, will i be one of the last ones notified? or is it done by college - some colleges get through admissions decisions quicker?

Looks like they’re missing my midterm report, even though i sent with priority mail and got delivery confirmation on March 15th. Guess i’ll have to get it filled out again, just a minor nuisance.

How do you find out Soze?

I called them and they told me it was the only thing missing.

Thanks Soze

should we call to check on our app?I don’t want annoy them since their message on the website asks us not to contact them?

I will wait for one more week. last year they updated the website around April 7th.

@Soze: Doesn’t that annoy you? You not only sent it priority mail but also with confirmation and STILL it’s missing. ugh

Something like that worries me because I did the same. Nothing is reliable anymore…

I sent my midterm reports the same way (well express since I’m in AZ). I really hope mine are not lost bc my profs were kind reluctant to fill them out…

It’s annoying as my application would probably be under review right now, as it was the only thing missing. And maybe that would’ve meant an earlier decision date? It probably got lost or misplaced in the shuffle, but it stinks knowing i sent it and got delivery confirmation.

After i found out i realized i probably should’ve made a copy just in case. This way i could’ve sent it out or faxed it over as soon as i found out something was missing.

I didn’t know we could send copies?

yes hyper. mid term is not official

colleges have their own decision committees and can send out decisions whenever they’re ready. last fall, there were some colleges almost ready to tell their applicants decisions when others had not even started. i suspect that they will also be waiting to see the yield from the freshmen coming in to see how many spots they can give away

According to websites, the 2014 freshman accpetance rate is lower than the previous year. It could mean 2 things: 1.) They’re packed and trying to cut numbers. 2.) Because they accepted less people, there’s more space for transfers.

And I was thinking, we’re so excited about hearing from them in mid April but MOST of the results aren’t even released then!! BAH

boys, i hope its the latter xp

i got a good omen today–my first transfer acceptances! I got big packages (finally!) from bing, stonybrook, and smith! hopefully even better things will come in the mail over the next two months!!

these schools don’t match up to cornell, but I’m so happy to get accepted SOMEWHERE. last year, i really felt like the scum of the earth when i opened all my thin envelopes  I don’t care where they’re from, it’s so nice to get thick envelopes finally!!!

cograts melonbrad,
I am so looking for my thick envelop.

congrats melonbread! but DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT go to stony. it’s where dreams go to die. of those 3, smith would be the best. my best friend goes there and she absolutely loves it

I hate this waiting

me too! i wish they’d update the website so i can if everything was received okay. i cant believe we may have to endure this until may!

does anyone know if the humec decisions are in april?

i know the wait is killing me. I dont know how to make time go by faster. I suggest a game of some sorts. person below me, whats your favorite movie?

the person who answers that ask the person below you a question
