Applying for fall of 2010 Cornell

haha hey riley. thanks for deleting me from facebook then requesting me again :(

I decided to shun myself from anything Cornell related. I’ve decided to lift the embargo. Hope it’s as awesome as you hoped.

Hey Riley, you decided to give it another shot also?

How’s everything been?

For those of you reapplying, did you have to make a new account on the common app website? Because I cant start a new application for Cornell.

I couldn’t either but I sent a query to the Common Application’s customer service team, and have yet to receive a response.

I think that’s probably what I’ll do if i don’t get a response by next weekend or so.

I had to make a new account.

Which ones of the “school forms” do we need to submit to Cornell? The College Official Report, the Instructor Evaluation, the School Report, or the Mid-Term Report. Also remember I’m a Junior Transfer.

you need to submit ALL of the school forms. some of the colleges will take the school profile and transcript from your HS only, but all of the college forms need to be filled out no matter what.

They really want a High School report even though I’ve been in college for 2 years???

yep. they take your hs record into account.

Athletics how did you make a new account? The common app won’t let you? Also, Stryke and TFN, if you applied to Cornell for the spring and got rejected and are applying again for the fall, you have to submit by paper. I already talked to the common app people. I told them their system is stupid, too.

Same here. I received a response from commonapp though, here is what they said:

Thank you for contacting the Support Team.
You can not submit to the same school twice in a season. You would need to contact the school and ask if you can submit via hard copy.
Again, thank you for contacting us; please do so again if you need additional assistance with this incident.
Regards,
The Support Team

I guess I’m stuck applying by mail.

I don’t see why I can’t just make a new account? Is there some reason for that?

Just tried to make a new account with a new e-mail address, but it wouldn’t let me. I guess our names our put into their system and for some reason, they don’t want us making two accounts (which sort of makes sense, I guess). It’s still pretty silly though.

Yeah the first thing I tried was making a new account. All of this could’ve just been avoided if Cornell accepted us last time!

Well, this is a shame for sure. I wish they had a number so I could just call them up and talk to them. Looks like I’ll be sending a paper application unless somehow there’s another way.

I just created a new email address and used that. I don’t know about applying to a school twice in the same term though.

anyone here applyin for ILR?

@athletics12 Cornell does not require a secondary school counselor’s report. they just want high school transcripts and 3 college forms. correct me if i’m wrong!

They do not require secondary school counselor’s report, just the hs transcript. On that note, only some programs within cornell require sat’s so you might wanna check that too. I believe you should have four total forms- letter from dean, 2 LOR’s, and then mid year report when they request it.

what is cornell’s business program called and what college is it part of? link will be appreciated. i just decided that i wanted to apply to cornell today
