Applying for Junior Year to HADES

I'm toying with the idea of applying for Junior Year to a couple of schools (Hotchkiss, Andover, Exeter, Deerfield, just to name a few), and I was wondering if I stand any chance. Here are my general stats.

Academics
-4.00 GPA (every semester, unweighted)
-Top of the Class (I guess you could say valedictorian as well)
-Taking Honors Pre-Calc Accel. as Sophomore
-All Honors Courses

Testing
-SSAT wasn't that great when I took it a couple of years ago
-PSAT: Going to take it next week; probably will score really high on math (near 80), pretty high on grammar (65 - 75), and average to slightly high on Reading Comp. (60 - 70)

EC's
-Sports: Thirds Soccer, JV Squash, Varsity Baseball
-Very much involved in Outdoor School Programs (ex. Fly Fishing, Hiking Club, ect.)
-Write for school newspaper
-Arts: Play Cello and do Ceramics

Other Info
-Sister went to Hotchkiss
-Very interested in Ancient History
-Will have EXTREMELY good recs from teachers

What are your opinions on my chances? Thanks again for your time.

I’d say your chances are better than average if you get good SSATs and submit a top notch essay. Really, though to say.

because your sister went to hotchkiss, i would say your chances are relatively high for hotchkiss.

as for the others, your stats are good but they would really be boosted with a good ssat score.

best of luck (:

Aren’t you considering as a transfer? You are doing awesome work where you are, so IMHO, you are better off continuing to shine at your current school than to start over and adjust as a junior at a new BS. Sure, the names of HADES are attractive, but it should be about your overall success and wellbeing. What could they actually offer you that you don’t have at current school (which you’ve raved about on this site)?

I would stay at your current school to be completely honest. Sounds like you will have a great edge in college apps if you are really shining like your post implies.
