Applying for Student Housing or apart. next to school

Was wondering which route you guys and gals will be going. I guess while living in student housing you can meet a bunch of new people, but i don't think i can have some random roomate being picked out by housing. Also i don't think i can do the 2 man one room thing.

My buddy told me his sister went to lmu, and said there is a street next to school full of apartments with lmu students-supposedly thats where the "real" parties happen.. can any current students chime in on this. I think i might just go on campus and talk with some of the students.

i’m coming from new jersey, so i think student housing, even dorming with a random dude, is the right route to take for me. i need to meet people! i’m gonna be all alone in the big city

Stay on campus* for maybe a year, then get used to LA, and maybe move off campus the year after* nothing wrong with dorming

riverrun1, we are from NJ and my daughter just finished her first year at LMU. she just loved it! btw, i agree that living in a freshman dorm is the right way to go. my daughter didn’t even like her roommate, but she still had a terrific year. if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

i’m a transfer & i want to live in the dorms but i want to be with another transfer or upperclassman, not a freshman. i’m going to try to get a single just because i’ve done the random roommate thing before & i need privacy just for psychological reasons haha

do you think i’ll still be able to get a single this late in the game?

i just found out i got in on friday over the phone, haven’t even gotten my packet yet.
