Hey everyone, just wanted to ask something I've heard conflicting information on--

Someone told me that you can apply to the summer semester at UofM out of high school and it was easier to get admitted this way. Does anyone know if this is true, or how this would affect admissions?

Thanks!

You can apply for summer term but I think it is a myth that it is easier to get into. Some students are admitted with the condition they attend a “bridge” program during the summer term.

Is the bridge program open to regular people, or is it only if your dad is a billionaire or something?

The bridge program is something the school makes you enter - it is not something you sign up for. The students in it will come from a variety of backgrounds.

I think it is a bit easier to get in to a spring/summer semester, but I think that may be a bit more for transfers vs new applicants.

Will I be able to apply for both the summer and the fall terms?

I’m pretty sure the answer to this is no.

I think you can only apply for one term at a time. But I do know that they will sometimes allow you to slide your application from one term to the next. My son applied for Winter as a transfer and they allowed him to use the same application for Spring/Summer. They denied his Winter application as he has no college grades yet but was accepted in Spring once he had some college grades.

I kind of doubt they would allow a Summer applicantioin to slide to Fall as there would be nothing new to consider.
