Applying for summer session?

<p>Universities give you the option for applying to summer sessions? If so does this increase your chances of admission, as I've seen one stated that it does.</p>

<p>(I've heard of jump start programs for certain students who got admitted with a low GPA etc..., but thought summer sessions were mainly recent freshmens, or upperclassmen.</p>

<p>Apparently this is one of those “it depends” questions…I’ve seen it be advantageous at Penn State-Upark and at Univ of Central Florida…no idea about other schools…</p>
