It says that one should start filling out a form for a dual degree after completing at least 46 credit hours. Since the office might not even approve the request, does that mean that during the first couple of years I should not take any classes required for my intended second major? But then, I might not complete everything on time...

Any advice?

I am a Biology major (CLAS), and I plan on adding Economics (HSB).

why would you take econ through HSB if you’re in clas?

Because Economics through CLAS is BA.

My son is a freshman starting this Fall. He told his adviser he wanted to double major in PoliSci and Economics and she set him up with tracking classes for both his first semester. He was advised that the core economics classes are exactly the same whether they are thru CLAS or the Business School.

there is literally no difference between getting a BS and a BA except for which college you get it through.
