I applied to DS as well, but I have not heard anything from them. On this thread someone had mentioned an e-mail that was sent out to 32 people. This may be wishful thinking, but maybe I was sent an e-mail but it was accidentally deleted or something (I did not get a phone call, but my phone was messed up for a while so when people called nothing could be heard).

On this email, can you guys see the recipients? if so, my email address is matrixtna@snet.net. Could someone please let me know if I'm on it, and if so, forward it to me or something.

Also, my last name begins with an M if that helps clarify why I haven't heard anything (does DS notify you if you haven't made it to part 2?)

matrix, Deep Springs does notify you if you've been rejected, but they do so with a more conventional mailed letter. I know this because I was rejected from the first round last year.

Also, I checked the recipients of the notification email, and I didn't see you on there. Maybe there's still a chance, but it's looking slim at the moment.

yeah chances are very slim. I've called the college and left messages etc so they know that I'm unsure of what's going on. That's good to know that they send a letter though.

AC/DC
Bob Seger
Chuck Berry
Dire Straits
Dream Theater
George Thorogood & the Destroyers
Godsmack
Jay-Z
John Mellencamp
Led Zeppelin
Living Colour
Morphine
Notorious B.I.G.
Run-D.M.C.
Rush

If you only check out one of these bands, make it Morphine; they have a truly unique sound (AFAIK).

Hi again-
Just got the papers in the mail a few days ago; I'm happy to be able to see where everyone else who was invited came from, but does anyone know exactly why all of our phone numbers were included? Are we expected to call each other or anything?

Also, sea05- I barely have any Sigur Ros but I've just requested some from my library, and have been enjoying Ys for a long time. Newson is pretty underrated, but it's much because of how unusual it is (too bad the mainstream can't appreciate greatness often when it is unusual.) Heh... imagine an American Idol contestant using a Joanna Newson piece....

I've also requested a few albums from Morphine. I don't think I ever heard them before, and am looking forward to their saxophones from what I read.

And the new newsletter was pretty interesting.

My album of the week (for recommendation): Return to Cookie Mountain by TV on the Radio. Very poetic; a bit long at times but very interesting.
