I am currently a freshman at Suffolk County Community College on Long Island, in NY and my fall semester I took 18 credits and recieved a 3.7, this spring semester I am taking 16 credits and I am sure I wont recieve anything less then a 3.8. That is dean's list for both semesters and Phi Theta Kappa honors society admission once this spring semester is over. I am a currently Communications major and will be applying to the NYU school of journalism. I work part time as a Pharmaceutical Technician, and write for the campus newspaper. I am going to try and get involved in maybe a club or something to have more extra curricular activities. After the spring semester is over im going to be applying for admission for Spring '10. What do you think my chances are? Also, what can I do to increase them?

There is no NYU School of Journalism, but there is a popular Journalism major within NYU College of Arts & Sciences. The Communication major is within NYU Steinhardt. But you can double major in both Communications and Journalism I believe, but you would have to apply for Steinhardt and after you get in, then request the double major in CAS, not the other way around.

Well it's the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute within the College of Arts and Sciences that i was referring to. Also my communications major has an emphasis on Journalism and is transferable into a journalism major, what do you think my chances are though?

omg that community college is in my town lol. =D. I heard its like the 2nd best in the nation or something.

You have good gpa and everything looks good. i would say you have a pretty good shot. =]
