Applying next cycle instead of this cycle, question about AMCAS and transcripts

Hey CC,
Decided not to apply this cycle and am going to apply next cycle. I never submitted my AMCAS, so would I just leave this application alone and fill out/send updated transcripts to next year’s? Is there any need to delete my current application that I started filling out or call in to cancel my current transcripts that I sent? Thanks!

You don’t need to do anything about this year’s app or transcripts. AMCAS won’t process anything unless you’ve hit the submit button. AMCAS gets tons of incomplete apps every year.

I’m not 100% sure, but you may be able to import some of the data from this year’s incomplete app into next year’s. That may save you some time next May.

Good luck!

I have seen a withdraw button or an equivalent even before submit.

Did some research, found this on the AMCAS website:

Your application may only be withdrawn prior to the verification process when your application is in one of the following statues: “Submitted to AMCAS - Ready for Review,” “Submitted to AMCAS - Waiting for Transcripts,” or “Returned”. See the application withdrawal FAQ for more information.

I really only submitted my transcripts and filled out part of the application, so I guess this wouldn’t apply to me? Also, the withdraw button is grayed out for me, and it notes that the application is “not processed or submitted.”
