applying now/2 q's

Hello! I am currently in the process of completing my apps. but i still have two decisions to make.

my gpa: 3.47 science: havent calculated, but probably a 3.3 or 3.4
got my only C in orgo II
MCAT: 30O from end of sophomore yr w/o taking any physics courses
Double Major: biology and psychology
worked at restaurants since 15, and now for a cardiologist for a yr to support myself
been in a service sorority for 3 yrs: parliamentatiran, treasurer, fundraising chair, alunmnar chair, president now.
no regular weekly volunteers, but through the sorority, we have raised thousands towards susan g. komen breast cancer foundation and ERASE: eliminate rape andsubstance exposure
no time for research or regular extra volunteer activity due to work

i have talked to the advisor about taking the MCAT again to compensate for GPA and i know ill at least increase it a little now that ive taken both physics 1 and 2, but she said it wont help much.

if i take it now the score could come out late and id like to take advantage of the rolling admission they have now and apply with the score i have.

another thing, i have my only C in O Chem II and the advisor have also suggested retaking it. but this will be next semester and it wont show up on my transcript, just the fact that im willing to retake it will show that i want to do well.

so i guess my q's are:

1) should i retake the MCAT? will the couple pt's help and make up for GPA? if i do, would the late score affect my chances?

2) should i retake O Chem even though med school wont see my final grade, just that im willing to retake it? cuz i am DREADING IT!

well i guess one last thing, im from texas and do i even have a chance at getting accepted into any in state texas schools? im reeeeeeeallly feeling the anxiety now.

any comment would help. thank you!!!

1.) Step 1 is to actually calculate your BCPM GPA. Honestly, it's like having not added up your MCAT score yet.

2.) Physics is such a small component of the MCAT -- one half of one section -- that unless your PS section was previously your lowest section, I think your advisor is right: it's not worth the delay.

3.) I wouldn't retake organic, in your shoes -- I would try to find another chemistry (biochem) to take instead.

4.) TMDSAS is a complex system with which I have no experience. I will, however, say this: you should probably try very hard to avoid their match, since (apparently) most of the spots are taken by then. What that means is that you should probably try to arrange any interviews you might receive from most preferred schools to least preferred ones.

5.) Texas has two very research-heavy schools in particular: Baylor and Southwestern. My suspicion is that the two of them will be disappointed in your lack of research, and your being below their number medians will not help either.
