I was recently at a tour and information session at Penn, and they said that applications are read as they are received. Once they are confirmed as "good" or "considerable" they go on to a committee where final decisions are made.
With that said, do you think it provides any benefit to submit your application a bit on the earlier side so that it is not just another one in huge stack?

I remember it saying somewhere on the website last year that if you applied by this certain priority deadline, they could guarantee you an interview… since they set them up once they’ve received your application. I submitted my application after the priority deadline but I live in a heavily populated area with tons of Penn alumni so I guess there wasn’t an issue. If you live out in the sticks then it might be beneficial to get yours in earlier, I guess.

Hmm…i dont remember this priority deadline but maybe b/c I just applied ED and this priority deadline is for RD? idk but i submitted like, 3 minutes from the deadline. Dumb and stupid I know, but I got in (praise the lord my internet didnt crash bc of my stupidity) but i guess it didnt play against me as long as i submitted before the deadline. i got an interview too.

Nah, I did ED too. It wasn’t something that I was ever notified about which is why I never really worried about it. My mom, being the nervous mother that she is, found it in some dark corner of the admissions website. It makes sense since they do have to find an interviewer who’s available, but whatever. Don’t sweat it.
