Applying RD, when to ask for recs?

<p>Question stated above. If I'm applying RD to all of my schools, where the deadline varies from Jan 1 - Jan 15, when is a good time to ask teachers for recommendations?</p>

<p>it's best if you ask around now to around mid-october. teachers usually want it 2-3 weeks before deadline, which does not include the weeks from winter break. plus it's better to give them ample time. teachers hate being pressed for time, and may write bad essays if they end up being ticked off.</p>

<p>i agree with hrhcow.
i know that some teachers are asked for more recommendations than others -- and they need a lot of time to write a good and thorough rec. for each student.</p>
