<p>Princeton mentions on the common app that they would prefer you to submit your application by December 15th if at all possible. Does submitting by this date offer any distinct advantage? (I'd imagine it does, especially if they start reviewing apps by December 15th)</p>

<p>Actually I seriously doubt this gives you any advantage - the Dec 15 preferred deadline is meant for colleges to have more time between the 15th and 30th to review apps, and not be inundated by a whole bunch at the end of december. I’d say take the time you need to make a good application, and don’t rush it just to fulfill this preferred submission date.</p>
