Applying test optional

<p>I would simply like to know if it would be better to apply to American University as a test-optional applicant with a 1610 SAT score. 570 CR 570W 470M :/</p>

<p>Apply test optional. I know a lot of people who have gotten in and gotten a lot of financial aid by applying test optional when their scores aren’t so great :)</p>

<p>Just keep in mind that if you apply test-optional, the admissions people are going to put even more weight on your grades and the other aspects of your application. </p>

<p>Applying test optional only works if the scores don’t match up with the rest of your application.</p>
