I haven’t taken the SAT but I got a 197 on the PSAT.

High school student to another

You grades are extremely high and are really good. So you probaly would get in to UT (esspically if your from texas). However my cousin had a 4.0 with 1875 SAT and thought that he was going to get into Georgia Tech and f. aid, so he only applied to that school ONLY. Well he didn’t get in (were from boston) and had to wait another year to apply to other schools (funny, he got into MIT and now is enrolled).

Now I’m not telling you to apply to 10 schools. However apply to 3 or 4 more. Perhaps another safety, an ivy league or another reach. I mean you never know, you might later hate UT or they might not give you enough f. aid.

I am from Texas so as long as I am in the top ten I am in. It is sad to hear what happened to your cousin though.

why are sad for
he is at MIT as we speak

The SAT scoring scale goes by tens. How exactly did he have a 1875 SAT?

Yeah.. and how did he get in MIT with that low of SAT scores.. is he an URM or legacy?

I would always keep my options open “just in case”
