I was wondering what the implications could be if I applied to 2 ED schools? I know that there is an ED contract and everything, but my chances of getting into both schools are really low, and I really want a higher chance of getting into one of them. One of the school uses the common app, and the other school doesn't. Both are top schools in the nation.

This is not ethically right, but I can't seem to figure out why it may be wrong to apply to both schools ED. Will I go to jail if I do? Fined? How will the schools ever find out? Sorry if I sound naïve but I'm just curious.

I’m really curious D: I’m sure there are people who do this out there? especially if schools have low admit rates and your chances of getting into both is 0.1%?

If your GC is worth her/his salt: the moment you ask for 2 ED packages (transcripts, school reports), you’ll get whacked. And they won’t be complicit. It’s utter selfishness – b/c if you do this and get found out, your HS will get blackballed and rightfully so.

I REALLY hope you fail at your plan if you do so.

If the GC helps you to apply to 2 ED schools, he/she is jeopardizing the future admission of students from your school. Also, you cannot do that if both schools are on CommonApp.

@T26E4 ooo lol both my GC and I are pretty clueless in terms of school admissions. She has not even heard of the commonapp until I told her about it. I just didn’t know that they would be asked for 2 packages or something… plus I would never dare do it because of all the moral implications… haha

According to the OP’s posting history, he is a clueless Canadian. He posted that with a 1970 SAT UCLA and UC Berkeley are his safeties and Northwestern is a match.
