applying to A&M

alright well, to start this off, Im getting ready to do my applications, and while my top choice is A&M, i dont exactly have the best chances of getting in. I have pretty good SAT scores (1850) but a fairly bad class rank (i was 1 spot below the top half. Anyway, I want a political science or international studies major, but I heard that it helps to apply to their school of psychology (least popular school), get your basic requirements done, and transfer to the major I actually want. Is this at all true or will it just make it harder for me if I do get in. also, on another subject, im having alot of trouble with one of their essays, it says "Many students expand their view of the world during their time in college. Such growth often results from encounters between students who have lived different cultural, economic, or academic experiences. With your future growth in mind, describe a potential classmate that you believe you could learn from either within or outside a formal classroom environment." a teacher thought i should try to write it as a short story in the future, but i cant figure out how to write that without it sounding corny, any help is appreciated.

bump.... 10 chars

so does nobody know? im really trying to finish my app tommorow and i wanna know if i should risk this or not

i really dont mean to be annoying but i'd really really like it if someone could give some input on this

Not too many people here are familiar enough with A&M to answer your question. It is probably more likely that you will be admitted into Blinn and then be able to transfer to A&M as a junior, but I would still suggest you apply to A&M.

As to the essay, since you are interested in political science/international relations, this should be relatively easy. They are looking for the corny answer, but your writing style can set you apart.
