Volunteer at hospital. In the club Chemory, which is a chemistry club. I am a chemistry major and music minor. I am also in club tennis. Also, just recently joined phi eta sigma, which is a national honor society. Nothing special.

if these were your community college stats, than i would say that you have no problem...

BUT.

my best gay friends was denied admission to UCLA as a freshman with a 4.0 and a perfect SAT score. he now makes a ton of money as the head-writer for rolling stone magazine...

To be honest, I really don't think your chances are great at all. Nothing really stands out in your application, so I'm going to have to say no to both.

i'm applying to brown with a 3.80 college gpa and a 2250, also from a USN&WR #18-ranked school and also as a chemistry/ch.engineering major.

honestly, i don't think our chances are that great (I say "our" because our stats are pretty similar). duke only accepts ~ 5%, too, so i would say your chance at that isn't stellar either.

but hey, you never know. random, good, amazing things have been known to happen.
