I would apply to Columbia ED if I were you, and I liked the school.

I've heard from quite a few reliable sources (on and and outside of College Confidential) that legacy is much more of a "tip" factor in early decision than in the regular decision round.

alexandra and hmom, thanks for the comments. I know exactly what to write I was just wondering if you thought my essay would be rather common and just seem like it was asking for pity.

as the others said...brown and columbia are going to be your biggest challenges. i wouldn't apply ED though, ive been reading around that ED rejection rates are through the roof at really prestigious schools like that. all the others in, youve got a chance at the other two!

please help me out? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/661484-chance-deferred-kid-ill-try-chance-back.html

You have a chance to get into all of the schools you listed. The legacy helps alot, and you are very similar to most kids who will apply to those schools. It would help if you could find something that makes you stand out, but if not you still have as good of a chance as just about anyone at most of those schools
