Applying to Cal Poly-Slo as a transfer student

Hey all, first post here.

Tried my best to search and post in the right section of the forums( but excuse me if I’m wrong)

Anyways. So quick run down. Just finished my first semester of community college at Pasadena City College. I basically wanted your guys’ opinions on Cal Poly Slo for Aerospace Engineering because that is my major and that is the major I intend to put down when I transfer eventually.

Also, lastly, any tips on what I can do to increase my chances of acceptance into SLO for aerospace engineering would be greatly appreciated, because I know it is a great school and is very selective. Currently my first choice because it’s in state, cheap, and a decent school.

I have a son at Cal Poly and have done a lot of research on admissions. For transfer students it is very difficult, what you need to do is keep a high GPA 3.5 or above and as important as many of your major’s courses as possible in the two years. Here is information that should help. [Aerospace Engineering Transfer Criteria - Admissions - Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo](<a href=“Cal Poly Admissions”>Cal Poly Admissions)

Oh, and it isn’t a decent school, it is one of the nation’s best in engineering: [Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs | Rankings | US News](http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/engineering-no-doctorate)
