I'm just curious, if I applied for Caltech for the 2015 Fall semester and didn't get accepted, would it hurt my chances for applying for the Fall 2016 semester? I was planning on finishing my AS in Math and physics before applying, but, since I'll be finishing Differential Equations and Linear Algebra in the Spring of 2015, why not try to apply then and see what happens? I'm a 4.0 student and in the honors program at my college, but I just started the honors program. My first honors project was in Calc II and it was on Space Flight (Kepler's laws and such). So should I just wait until I graduate or try to get in twice? Also, are there any EC's for community college students? Keep in mind I work full time too (Math tutoring at the college and a regular job).

The university is very selective for admissions so for transfers, it is even more choosy. They only admitted 6 transfers in the fall of 2013.

I understand that they are very selective. That is the main reason for my question.

why would you want to go to Caltech?!?! Apply somewhere else!!1

Caltech has a really small office such that they know the names and types of students who have applied. I was surprised at how they remembered all of my son’s details and information. They look for a very specific type of student, and they seem to know exactly who they want.
Read the open letter,

I think they would remember your application twice.

Sure you can try but as was said above, the chances of a different result are minimal. Instead, look into some of the other AITU schools. A number of them have a lot higher transfer admission rates.
