Hi i have a question about when colleges will recive my test scores, ill be applying through early decison to presbyterian college and the deadline for ED is nov 1. I plan to take the SAT twice my senior year probably both in oct. one early and one late oct, it takes about 2 weeks for scores to be received and if im taking the SAT late oct will I have a chance to show the college those scores before they make their finale decision? The colleges web site says that the scores arnt due till june 30 so will my application just be pending till the final results come in or will they only judge my application from my SAT scores from early oct. piror?

You cannot take the SAT twice in Oct. It is given once in Oct and then in Nov. Don’t know which college you are referring to, but if it has ED and it requires test scores, then the last test you can take for it is either Oct or Nov. The school should tell you which on its site. The reference to June 30 deadline is either referring to a last date for applications for regular admission, not ED, or to something you need to submit after being admitted so check the college’s site more closely for what is actually required and when for ED if it has ED.

There many be some State mandated one that runs in October in addition to the National one. Just like some junior students in Michigan taking ACT twice in March.

Yes the regualr application for this college closes on june 30 and thats when they said the scores needed to be received by, so i think applying ED only gives me one chance in oct to take the SAT again…i had another question involving my scores… on collegeboard my colleges SAT math and reading scores stats that students score at lest a 480 in reading and a 500 in math which equals out to 980, what if i were to score a 500 in reading and 480 in math but still have the 980? will i be less likely to get in or do i just need the combined score of 980+…the same goes if i scored a 550 on the reading and a 450 on the math that would combined to a 1000 but will colleges look down on my application if i pose as a much stronger reader than math student?

If your scores are at that level, I don’t think ED would do you any good. Try to bring up your score as much as possible and do RD.
