Applying to College of Science without Physics

Hey I'm a senior in high school who is absolutley IN LOVE with Notre Dame and will be applying RA. I am applying as a Chemistry major in ND's College of Science. In high school, I have taken Accelerated Sequence Biology, Accelerated Sequence Chemistry, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and Honors Biochemistry. I have not, however, been able to take physics for the past two years. My school has serious crowding issues and because of this, there are many scheduling conflicts. Because my schedule is basically all honors and AP classes (many of which are offered only once a day), physics fits in nowhere! I have tried everything, I even went and talked to the physics teachers and the head of Guidance. My guidance counselor promised that she will affirm that I could not be scheduled into physics for two straight years and add that I've tried everything to get it. Do you think Notre Dame will accept this and still allow me to apply to the College of Science??

Thanks so much to all for your input!!!

Whoa.......i've never heard anything about that....i guess in my school......they dont want to take advanced classes becauses there are no scheduling conflicts. I think Notre Dame might understand.....but......it still might seem like it puts you at a disadvantage

hmm come to think about...they might be understanding but although it is an unfair situation...they might not give into the idea and allow it because of your aims regarding the college who knows

When you apply for ND you do not apply to a specific college, therefore not having physics will probably not be a complete killer. For all they know you are applying to be an arts major.

even though you may go to a major eventually i think tht there is a basic level that they want you to have in certain areas
