Applying to colleges through National College Match vs. Forwarding QB apps RD round

What's the advantage of applying to colleges early through the National College Match as opposed to forwarding QB applications in the RD round?

Isn't the rate of acceptance through QB lower than RD (especially if you're an Asian)?

Also, in partner colleges such as Stanford and Princeton, your application in the early round is AUTOMATICALLY forwarded to the RD round--meaning you cannot re-apply or make changes to your application? (Let's say I took the December ACT--they're not going to consider that).

For QB finalists who chose not to participate in the college match, what are your reasons?

Advantages:
-Finding out earlier
-Getting an extra application round. You can apply through the Match Round, and also apply through Regular Decision if you don’t get matched.

Disadvantages:
-Yes, it’s hard to get matched, especially if you’re Asian.
-Some schools, like Yale, only match applicants with 0 EFC.

It’s also true that once you submit the common application + supplement, you can’t revise those for the regular decision round. I’m a finalist, but I only ranked Yale. Yale doesn’t require the common app + supplement for the match round, so I only have to forward the Questbridge app.

You can’t edit the Questbridge app anymore, so I’m not rushing anything for Yale. I chose not to rank Princeton and Stanford because they require the common app + supplements. I don’t want to rush those.

Well I decided not to apply be/c some of my top choice schools were not part of the match program…so thats an obvious disadvantage…you’re locked into questbridge schools

I ranked MIT as one of my colleges. Would it be wise to apply rushed to MIT through QB, (without my better Nov. and Dec. SAT/ACT scores) and if not matched, apply without the QB app in the RD round? Would it decrease my chances (say the same adcom reads the same app for the second time in the RD round and throws it away?) Weird question, I know.

Also, would adcoms look at you differently if you applied through QuestBridge in the early round as opposed to the RD round, being a QB finalist notwithstanding? (In other words, would applying as a QB finalist still hold as much weight in the regular admissions process as in the earlier process?)
