Applying to Columbia College

I'm a Junior at a large low-performing high school in Tri-State Area (I'm middle class and white)

SAT: 2300+ (based of psat)
SATII: 730, 760, 760, one more that is not so stellar (does it count, considering they ask for 3?)
Rank: top 10 students of ~512
APs: 5/4/4/5

ECs:Prez of Investment Club, Prez of Student Gov, Prez of NHS, Mock Trial Capt, science research at nyu, volunteering, internship w/ politician, finance internship in manhattan, Varsity Tennis (not that great though)

Any chances? Advice?
Be honest.. If Columbia is totally out of my league, which colleges should I look at?
I'm looking to major in statistics or econ
Thanks, in advance!!!

another one, holy ....

haha

jk

You forgot to comment in my other 6 threads :)

I think they'd look at the fourth SAT II as well, as it's there. But you got 3 good ones so no worries.

I see no reason why you would not have a good chance at CC. Get an even better SAT I and approach your college app right. Definitely apply, and do ED if it's your first choice for sure.

I'm not sure I can apply ED, simply due to FA concerns. I don't know if I can make RD.
Thanks for the response!

You didn't list your GPA which peobably will have a large impact on your chances...

Can you apply ED and still ask for finaid for internationals?

93uw (after freshman year it's 95-96UW) .

I'm not even sure if you can ask for financial aid as an international. Anyone?

Bottom line, apply. If money is a problem, start early at applying for outside scholarships. ED will for a fact increase your chances, so see if there's any way you can do it.

ill go find ALL of them, haha

I looked at their site and they said they do have need based finaid for international..Im quite keen on applying there (having been in NYC for 3 years a few years back) so considering ED..But money is a big prob..anyone?

bump it up...

tbhnams: Rule of thumb: Do NOT apply early (binding) if money is an issue.

Columbia will be a toss-up I think. You're in the running, but its not certain by any means.
