Yes, most likely Dickinson and Drexel will fly off my list, but AWS are also schools that are probably not what i may want which is a big school--which AWS are definately not with only wat? 1500 undergrad? HA! thats 1/3 of my high school

OK -- HERE IS MY COLLEGE LIST, INCLUDING EVERYTHING!

This is the ENTIRE list, with no uncertainties counted. Half of this list, im quite unsure of in terms of whether its way too competitive for me to get in, or the opposite, too low standards...examples of this are....
AWS, Drexel, Dickinson, Univ of CT, Penn State

Help me NARROW DOWN this list! (Cus im going to start visiting in June)

Maybe when you start making plans for visits, you should try to visit schools in each category - one big, one small, 1 LAC, 1 city school, 1 rural, etc. That should help you to narrow the list, as you find out what you prefer.

Well, after talking to many people, ive narrowed down this list, which ive had for about 2 months. The old list which has 32 will now be cut down to.....around 20.....which is obviously still too big, but its good for now. I will post it up soon.

Ok, Since my Criteria are basically confined to the Northeast, my old list of 32 schools became around 20. Its a considerable reduction, but this list is much more realistic. Here it is:

1- Cornell
2- NYU
3- U of R
4- Boston U
5- Brandeis
6- Brown
7- Lehigh
8- Colgate
9- Vassar
10- Tufts
11- Georgetown
12- GWU
13- JHU
14- Syracuse
15- SUNY Bing
16- SUNY Buffalo
17- SUNY Stony
18- SUNY Geneseo
19- U Pittsburgh
20- Union College
21- Penn State

Eliminated
Dickinson, Drexel, Amherst, Swarthmore, Williams, Fordham, Columbia, UPenn, UCT, Univ of Sciences in Philly

You may wonder why i eliminated AWS--liberal arts schools...dunt think its right for me, also VERY competitive and small.
Columbia and UPenn because they are too competitive and there are so many great schools on my list that considering my 10-12 skool application limit, it would be a waste to apply to them.

What is your opinion on the list, considering im doing ED Cornell? Good avg, really good extracurriculars, the normal Cornell wannabe.

I will narrow this down to a 10-12 anyway so i need to cut out 8, leaving some reaches, possibles and safeties.

How would you further revise this list?

I think ikts a good list and as you search around the various school's web sites perhaps you can eliminate a few more. As stated, without your SATS we are in the dark.

I am not sure if these are listed in your current order of preference but I recommend not taking that approach. Better to have a variety of schools in terms of selectivity---some that are a "sure bet" (avoid the term safety) and others that are long shots, (again, avoid the label "dream or reach". )Then everything in the middle is "likely" but uncertain given todays environment. Try and see yourself being happy at any of these schools. When you end up with a handful of acceptances, again, try not to get caught up on a first, second choice outlook. Instead look again at pluses and minuses and when you visit after the acceptances go by where you see yourself being happy. Soapbox over!

Look at University of Chicago. You will get in.

Well, I think that you will get into Cornell, too. Chicago was just an addition to your list.

Chicago is just too far away from NYC. It would definately be on my list if the geographic problem didnt exist.
