Applying to CSU w/ D in History

Current high school senior with an uw gpa of 2.86; planning to apply to several of the less selective CSUs. I have satisfied all of the a-g reqs besides history/social science. During my junior year, I passed a semester of AP US History, then received a D in the second semester. I have been unable to make up the credit up until this point. Am I correct in thinking I could use my first semester of AP US History, a semester of Gov (yet to be taken), and my full year of AP World History to satisfy the requirement (seeing as the a-g reqs say “1 year of US History OR 1 semester of U.S. history and 1 semester of civics or American government AND 1 year of social science”)? Or am I better taking some credits at a local CC then transferring?

Thanks

Yes, if you pass the semester of Government, have 1 year of World History and the 1 semester of US then you should fulfill the requirement. Your D however will be still included in your CSU GPA unless repeated. If possible, can you repeat the 2nd semester only for USH, Senior year to have all your bases covered?

Also can take the USH SAT subject test and get a 550 or higher to complete the requirement.
Did you check with your GC to confirm or contact one of the CSU’s?
