Hey!

I am a transfer student with a CSU transferable GPA of 2.82. I am applying to the following schools for Mechanical Engineering:

Cal Poly Pomona
San Jose State University
California State University Northridge
Sacramento State University
California State University Fresno

Does anyone have any helpful information about any of the schools I am applying too? Anyone else here applying to CSUs for Mechanical Engineering?

Thanks!

According to http://info.sjsu.edu/static/admission/impaction.html , the threshold GPAs for admission to SJSU mechanical engineering were:

Sprint 2012: 3.20
Fall 2012: 3.35
Fall 2013: 2.55
Fall 2014: 2.90

Thanks for the link!

I attended a UC and finished up a lot of my lower division engineering there. Then,I withdrew for some personal reasons, and I am now attending a cc. My cc GPA is 3.6,but my UC GPA brings my transferable GPA down to 2.8.

Do you know if they look into these details (or what school were attended) or do they just reject your application if you don’t meet the threshold GPA?

Thanks again fr your help.

If they only ask for your transcripts after they admit/deny you, then no, they do not look into grade trends or anything like that (how could they?). However, if they requested your transcripts before admitting/denying you, then it could be a possibility.
