I have a question. Can I apply to one ED school and few other EA schools? or do I have to apply to just one ED school or just EA schools??

I’m not entirely sure but I don’t see why not! The only requirement is if you get into your ED school then you must withdraw all other applications but if you happened to get results from your EA schools before that then I don’t see how that would hurt you or something. Of course you’d have to decline the EA schools that admitted you before and withdraw apps from the EA schools that haven’t responded yet though.

Don’t take my word for it though. I’m going through the application process too for the first time myself this fall :)

It depends on each school’s policy. Generally speaking, if the ea is not REA or SCEA it’s OK to apply ED as long as you withdraw if you are admitted in the ED school. Should you apply SCEA, however, you aren’t allowed to apply ED anywhere else.

^ Right. Let me elaborate…

I have had that confusion too until recently. I consulted many people and sites and learned that when you apply to 1 ED school, you CAN apply to multiple EA schools, ‘minus’ SCEA schools such as Yale and Stanford.

When you choose to apply SCEA to such as Yale or Stanford, you cannot apply to ANY OHTER early schools, whether ED or EA.

For instance, if you apply ED to U Penn, you can apply EA to MIT, Cal-Tech, and U of Chicago, but not to Yale or Stanford. And if you apply SCEA to Yale or Stanford, you cannot apply to any other Early school.
