I am an American high school student and the University of Edinburgh is on the top of my list (I want to study English Literature). However I have some things I would like to get straight. First of all, I've heard that Edinburgh pays more attention to standardized test scores and AP scores and do not even care about GPA. Is this true? I've heard this about many UK schools. I have scored well on the ACT but plan to retake (for personal satisfaction if anything); I am also taking SAT subject tests to fill the requirements because I will only have AP scores for English (Edinburgh needs APs in two different subjects, or at least two SAT subjects.) I will probably be taking three SAT subject tests: Literature, World History, and U.S. History. What scores should I aim for, realistically? And one last question: I know Edinburgh is competitive, but I heard that they are eager to accept international students due to the higher tuition rates. Because of this, international students are basically just competing among international students. Is this true?
