When you apply to CU Boulder, are some majors more competitive than others? My son’s stats are well within the acceptance range, but I’m wondering if ENVD, or any other majors (Engineering, Business…) are more difficult to get into.
Yes, the ACT score and GPA requirements are higher for Engineering and Leeds compared to Arts and Sciences.
Students can start in arts and sciences and transfer to business or engineering, you can look up the requirements, depending on which school is of interest. Music requires a live audition as well.
The GPA and ACT requirements are by College, not by Major.

Environmental Design has a higher GPA Requirement than Arts and Sciences. That does not mean that the majors in Arts and Sciences are easier however. Physics at CU Boulder is known to be one of the top undergrad programs in the USA, with highly ranked PhD programs. So physics weeds out the weak ones in the first year. Ditto on chemistry, biochemistry, mathematics etc.
