Applying to Ivies in a bad financial situation

Duke has an excellent premed program. They also give out full ride scholarships. Angier B. Duke scholar is the designation. only 15-16 students are selected as A. B. Duke Scholars each year. Once selected, the school covers all tuition, fees and room and board expenses for 4 years including a summer at Oxford (all travel and tuition costs for the summer).

Another excellent scholarship to consider is the Robertson Scholarship. You can go on-line and apply for this scholarship now (yes, you can apply for it before sending his college application).

Realistically speaking, other than full ride scholarships, you will end up with some loans. Ivys do not give scholarships, but many non-ivy schools do. Maybe you should look into some of those (cast a wide web).

You have an excellent set or ECs. By the way, I coach the science bowl team in my son’s school, wondering if you have any advice/sources for practice questions? I have been coaching the team for 3 years now, and we already burned through the example questions on the website. I tried the purchase option, but the set of questions they sent me were way too easy.

Haha, we had the same problem. I’m not sure how much I can help you, but I do know that Brown University has a really nice set of practice questions. We found it by just Googling Science Bowl questions. Sorry I couldn’t help you more, and good luck! PM if you need any more information.

Google New England Science Bowl. They use the same difficulty level of questions, and have exactly the same format.
